Quiet Flats, Big Fish, and Some of the Best Sight Fishing in the World
The Lower Keys are home to some of the most scenic and productive flats in Florida. From Big Pine Key to Key West, this region offers miles of shallow water, healthy habitat, and far less pressure than the more crowded areas to the north.
This is where I spend most of my time on the water: the quiet side of the Keys where the fish still behave like fish and the opportunities feel endless.
Why the Lower Keys?
The Lower Keys offer a unique combination of:
- Wide-open oceanside flats
- Quiet backcountry creeks and basins
- Healthy grass flats and sandy edges
- Less boat traffic than Islamorada
- Reliable sight fishing windows
- Great shots at all three of the Big Three
If you want the classic Florida Keys flats experience, this is it.
